Meet Adelyn

Meet Adelyn, our totally unexpected, happy surprise.  I have never known a two year old that can converse like she does.  Her age is often mistaken based on how well she can talk and verbalize her needs.  This probably comes from being the third child in a family of all girls.

She loves having two older sisters and plays it well.  When it is time to pick up toys she will say, “I can’t.  I am too little and don’t know any better,” totally playing up her young age.   When something fun is involved she will say, “Why can’t I? Hannah and Jessa are (what ever activity is involved)” feeling that she is a complete equal with them.

Adelyn is a very loving little girl.  Her greatest love is her “Husker” grandpa.  She has adored him even since infancy, even preferring him to hold her over her grandma.  She talks about her grandpa often and even has a song she made up that she sings when she misses him.

The existence of Adelyn was a lesson in itself.  I had plans for my life, plans that I had made for myself.  We were going to be a two child family for a couple of years until I accomplished a few things that I felt were important.  God did not view my plans as important as His.  Each time I look at Adelyn, I am reminded of our God’s sovereignty and His perfect plan.  He knew I needed a little blue eyed cutey named Adelyn.  I can not imagine my life without her.
